Also on the concert program: Dwarfs & No Business by Igor Lešnik and Un jardin sous la pluie avec un compositeur sans parapluie by Berislav Šipuš.

In collectively composing PER OMNIA, composer Franz Cibulka (orchestra), Igor Lešnik (percussion ensemble), and Regina M. Unterguggenberger (choir) travel through time. PER OMNIA unites the different nuances of numerous cultures, musical languages and stylistic directions. The composition expresses, on the one hand, the individuality of the three artists which, on the other hand, flows unto one, blends, and creates a harmonious whole.

The changes in rhythm and tempo symbolize the movement, tension, progress, and development belonging to each epoch. Tender, very melodic parts add contrast. And it is due to these rich contrasts that the fluctuation between movement and stillness can be not only heard, but also felt.

PER OMNIA aims to show that eventful, tension-filled, and peaceful times pervade each other. It often turns out in this frantic life that every standstill is a step back. PER OMNIA aims to stimulate us to accept slow, thoughtful moments in humility and to put trust in a cosmic justice. This cosmic justice is reflected textually in a parable from Matthew, chapter 20. The Lord gives those workers sent to the vinyard at the eleven hour the same wage as those sent at the third.

“Or is your eye envious because I am generous? So the last shall be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.”
